PUInjectGrout

Water leak sealing example
Product Overview

PUInjectGrout - Polyurethane Injection Resin

PUInjectGrout is a low viscous, single-component, hydrophobic, MDI-based polyurethane injection resin that reacts with water to form a flexible polyurethane foam. It is designed to seal leaking cracks, fractures, and joints in concrete, brickwork, and sewers. After injection, the resin expands to fill voids, creating a tight, impermeable elastomeric seal that stops water flow.

Applications

Uses & Advantages

Uses

  • Shut off water leaks in concrete, brickwork, and sewers where movement and settlement may occur.
  • Water cut-off in foundations such as diaphragm walls, sheet piles, and secant piles.
  • Sealing water-carrying cracks and joints in tunnel segments.
  • Curtain grouting behind tunnel, concrete, brickwork, and sewer walls.
  • Injection of failing membranes and linings in tunnels and bridges.

Advantages

  • Single-component, no catalyst required.
  • Immediate viscosity increase, ideal for active leaks.
  • Can be injected as a single-component system.
  • Highly flexible foam, suited for dynamic cracks and joints with significant settlement and movement.
  • Cured foam is chemically inert, non-toxic, and environmentally safe.

Application

Application Instructions

Application

  • Start injection at the first packer; for vertical joints or cracks, begin with the lowest packer.
  • Do not over-pressurize during injection; use the pressure that allows resin to flow into the crack or joint, avoiding pressures above 1500 psi (100 bar).
  • If unreacted resin exits the joint or crack, stop injection and move to the next packer.
  • After the last injection, inject a small amount of water into the packer to ensure the resin reacts fully.
  • Only catalyze resin intended for use within a few hours.
  • Flush the pump at the end of the day to prevent resin curing inside, which can damage the pump.
Properties

Physical Properties

PUInjectGrout reacts with water to form a flexible polyurethane foam with the following properties:

  • Absorbs movement in cracks due to its flexibility.
  • Penetrates deep into fine cracks.
  • Reacts with water, producing carbon dioxide gas that creates swelling pressure, expanding the resin into a foam that seals water penetration.
  • Free expansion: 2700%.
  • Chemically resistant to water, weak acids, alkali, and most organic solvents.
  • Excellent adhesion to mineral construction materials (concrete, cement, brick), metal, and certain plastics.
